Rizal: Does His Legacy Still Lives?

When Filipinos are asked “Do you know Dr. Jose Rizal?”, most of the answers you`ll receive are he`s our national hero, he wrote Noli me Tangere and El Filibuterismo, he was shot on Bagumbayan, or Rizal Park was named after him. This is the common knowledge of what most of the Filipinos have about Dr.  Jose Rizal. Sure, they do know Rizal, but are you sure that they remember him? I mean, after all the years, does Rizal still lives in the hearts of Filipinos?

Rizal, as we know, is our national hero. He achieved this because he did not resort to violence and bloody forms to fight the oppression of the Spaniards. Instead, he wrote and used language to show how ruthless and cruel the Spaniards were. These things could be seen on his famous works, Noli Me Tangere and El Filibusterismo. Because of this, he was put to prison and was executed at Bagumbayan, where some of the riflemen were his fellow Filipinos. He did not regret anything he did. Instead, he risked everything he had, including his life, to save our country so we can attain the freedom we have today.

To remember and commemorate some parts of his life, we got the chance to watch a play about Rizal`s childhood. The play is titled” Batang Rizal”. I thought that the play will be all about Rizal, but instead featured a student who traveled back in Rizal`s time, where he even got the chance to meet him during his younger years. He was even mistaken to be Rizal himself! The play was funny and entertaining, and it also taught us some things we don`t know about Rizal`s childhood. After watching, I realized that I was very much like Rizal, a kid who was displayed weak and often bullied, a kid who had a strong desire to learn, a kid who dreamt to be famous and make a name someday.

Rizal may be gone today, but let us not forget what he has done for us in order to be able to live like we are today. If it was not for his noble actions, we would not be a free country, but under a tyrannical rule of some other country. Without him, we will not be able to experience the freedom we have today. Rizal is our national hero, but let`s make it a fact that he is. Let us not forget him, but we should be able to learn more about Dr. Jose Rizal.

The Playstation 2 Still Lives!

In these days, video games played a part in the lives of many individuals. Almost everyone has a game console, ranging from handheld or big ones, even smartphones. But for me, my PS2 is one console that provides a great time. For those with PS2s out there, here are some easy steps that you can follow so that your PS2 can give you the satisfaction that has been felt by gamers.

First, make sure you have your PS2 (Playstation 2) game console. Then, you have to find the wires and cables that you will attach to it. These cables include the AC Adaptor. You also need to find a PS2 jack. Then, bring out the controllers, but if you only have one then it`s fine. Some players enjoy the company with other players, while some, like me, prefer being alone when playing.

Second, pick the game you want to play. Picking the game is the most crucial part, depending on how many do you have and your interests. Great titles include Resident Evil 4, Valkyrie Profile2: Silmeria, Tekken 5, and so on and so forth. If you have all the things you need, get ready to play.

Third, attach the cables to their appropriate sockets. The AC Adaptor and jack go to the back, and the controllers at the front. Then, push the button to open the console. Don`t put the cables in improper places. Don`t put them near flammable areas. Then, insert the game that you picked. Make sure the cables are connected properly. Do not mix them because they could get tangled. Close the console, push another button to turn on your PS2. Wait for a few seconds for your game to be played. If you want, you can prepare snacks so you can eat while you play, or invite friends or family members for a great gaming experience.

Even though the PS2 is outclassed by more modern and upgraded consoles, it still catches the hearts of gamers. It is the best-selling console, selling over 138 million units worldwide. Until now, the Playstation 2 still plays a part in the lives of gamers.

The Card Game That Never Gets Old

In our world today, the attention of children is focused on gadgets. Unlike most of us, we didn`t have the gizmos they play in our childhood. Although it can provide the same satisfaction to children, playing and competing in non-virtual games and activities provides experience and social interaction, like card games. one of these card games that sparked my childhood until now is the Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG.

In the Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG(Trading Card Game), there is much more than flipping, shuffling, and setting cards. This game requires strategy, quick thinking, analysis, keen observation, and focus. To beginners, it is easy to catch up and learn. Experienced players can customize their decks to be the strongest.

Unlike others, cards are designed to be durable and has less chance of breakage. Newly-bought cards also have a pleasing smell. Also, the cards have more clearer look than the others. For the players, this game is fun because it provides interaction and leasure time. It can also improve your thinking. Through duelling and trading cards, you also get more friends and form alliances.

Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG is more than just a card game. It reminds me of how can I pull off counter strategies and quick moves. It also reminds me of my childhood and my friends who I used to play with. For me, this game is easier and fun. I started to play when I was in Grade Three, and until now I still get to play and duel.

In general, Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG is a popular game enjoyed by player, young and old alike, around the world. It is easy but can get complicated, depending on your playing style. I assure you, Yu-Gi-Oh! is the most popular card game.
